Burlington, NC -- Police arrested a man Tuesday morning after several witnesses say they saw the man masturbating near children at a playground.
Burlington City Park employees called police Tuesday morning about 9:30 am when they allegedly saw 35-year-old Keary Davis masturbating.
Burlington Police say Davis didn't make physical contact with anyone in the park, but he was in the presence of children while they were playing in the playground.
Davis was charged with Felonious Indecent Exposure and was held under a $10,000.00 secured bond in the Alamance County Jail.
According to the NC Department of Correction, Davis has prior convictions of indecent exposure. He was convicted of misdemeanor indecent exposure in 2006, 2007 and 2009. He has also been ordered not stay off the property of Alamance Crossing.
Based on North Carolina law, Davis was not registered as a sex offender since his previous exposure charges were misdemeanors. Felony indecent exposure charges are the only ones that qualify for the registry.
Investigators say several children and adults were in the park at the time, and may not be aware of the incident.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Burlington Police Department at (336) 229-3500 or Burlington/Alamance Crimestoppers at (336) 229-7100.
