Jamestown, NC -- The Guilford County Health Department received its largest shipment of H1N1 flu vaccines this week.

Saturday they immunized people most at risk, that includes children, college students and pregnant women.

Long lines formed early, as families waited to get the H1N1 vaccine nasal spray or shot. This isn't the first time many of these families have tried to find available vaccines.

Stephen Taylor and Gretchen Velazquez spent weeks trying to get their 10 month old twins vaccinated at their pediatrician's office.

"I've been calling our pediatricians office everyday this week and they haven't had it available," said Velazquez.

WFMY News 2 called two dozen pediatricians at random Saturday and none of them had H1N1 or seasonal flu vaccines available.

A spokesperson with the Guilford County Health Department tells us 1,831 people were vaccinated at the clinic.

For more information on H1N1 or to check the availability of the H1N1 vaccine at the Department of Public Health, call 641-7777 or visit www.guilfordhealth.org and click on the H1N1 flu vaccine availability link.
