High Point, NC -- Police are investigating a shooting at Skeet Club Grocery off Skeet Club Road in High Point.

Investigators say that the victim was a male store clerk who was shot twice during an armed robbery.   The clerk, identified as Waqar Gilani, is being treated at Moses Cone Hospital.

Detectives say the store was robbed by two black males in their late teen or early twenties.  They were last seen by witnesses running into the woods behind the property.  One was wearing a black hoodie, another in a brown hoodie.   Tracking dogs were brought to the scene but have been unable to locate the men.

Several schools in the immediate area were placed on lockdown as police searched for the suspects.  The lockdown has since been lifted.

The store is located in a strip mall next to the Triad Lawn and Garden Store.   Someone who works at the lawn and garden store told WFMY's Philip Jones, that she heard a big ruckus going on.
