Lexington, NC -- A Davidson County family is spending their first night in their extreme home thanks to thousands of volunteers.

The Creasey family spoke for the first time since returning to their newly built home.

Tricia Creasey battles colon cancer.

She and her family once lived in a 1930's fixer-upper with structural problems.

They now have a home that won't distract them from helping Tricia beat her disease.

"There was really just no place for me to rest and get the rest that I need and I have that now and we have a strong home a safe home," shared Tricia as she spoke about her new home.

The production crew from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition left the area Wednesday.

The show they shot with the Creasey family is expected to air in February.
