Greensboro, NC -- Four talented Greensboro brothers tried out for a singing competition on a whim, and in the end, they received an opportunity of a life time.

We first met the Peay brothers inF february when the CBS Early Show chose them to compete in a nation-wide search for the best singing family.

They didn't win, but remain one of our favorites.  Our Ttracey McCain caught up with Katif, Majid, Taimine, and Solomon to see what the group is up to now.

It's nothing for these four brothers to fall in perfect harmony.

The Peay brothers sang their way onto a national stage this year when they competed on the CBS Early Show's Singing Family Face-off.

"It was a great experience. It was different from what we're used to; a new stage, a new audience, larger audience."

"It was an audience we didn't have an opportunity to reach before."

Originally from Rowland, NC, the Greensboro brothers gained a national audience.. one that voted them all the way to the finals and eventually second place.

"There was a lot of disappointment; a lot of people thought we were cheated but you know that's quite natural because you always want to see someone that you're pulling for win. But winning 1st place is not always the best prize. So you know it did just what it was supposed to do for us."

"We were kind of torn. Of course we wanted to win but to see the kids get it there was still some pleasure in that."

"We didn't want Greensboro to look bad or North Carolina to look bad so we had a reputation to up hold."

The brothers can joke about the loss because their futures are full of new possibilities... including a record deal where they already have an idea for their new album.

"It's more southern gospel but we want to do a variety. It's going to be more of our flavor for a change. We're going to give the people more of our sound and show people what we're really about."

The Peays thrive on singing a cappella and are on a mission to bring traditional harmonies back onto commercial radio.

"It's a lost art if you ask me, but it's coming back, its bouncing back with a little bit of zing. "

Though fame is somewhat new to them, they appreciate every vote and show of support they've received over the past year.

"We love you for all that you've done for us, and we appreciate it!"

"You don't know how that makes me feel."

The Peay brothers wrote two songs for WFMY News 2 viewers.  You can hear them both and vote on which one should be the new Good Morning Show theme song.  You decide which one it will be!
