Sparta Family Killed After Head-On Wreck

Roaring Gap, NC -- A family from Sparta, NC died Monday evening after getting into a wreck.

NC Highway Patrol says a family was driving down Highway 21 in Allegheny County around 5:20 Monday evening when their pickup truck crossed over the center line and hit a commercial box truck head on.

The driver of the pickup truck, 40-year-old James Perry and his two passengers, 34-year-old Amy Perry and 11-year-old Brandon Perry all died from the wreck. The family was from Sparta, NC.

Investigators are waiting on toxicology results to determine if alcohol was a factor.
