Greensboro, NC -- Again the alleged misconduct in the Greensboro Police Department involves an investigation of Lieutenant James Hinson.

Last June, he set off a series of investigations when he accused other officers of tracking him in his patrol car.

Now, in a letter to Harris Teeter, his attorney claims Hinson was watched by the GPD while working security at the store.

Harris Teeter admits workers gave officer Scott Sanders photos from the store's surveillance cameras.

They said he told them it was part of an ongoing investigation, but he did not display a warrant.

Hinson's lawyers suspect the footage was used in one of the questionable internal investigations that led to the resignation of former chief David Wray and the report that first laid out department troubles.

WFMY News 2 has seen that confidential report.

Independent consulting group RMA says Sanders investigated minority officers for three years.

The report also says Sanders used female informants to quote "solicit Hinson and others to engage in prostitution."

When Sanders turned his investigation over to internal affairs, RMA says the department found no evidence of any policy violations.

Sanders attorney responded to the allegations saying quote "Scott Sanders was a good cop. And he did nothing wrong."

But in a late-breaking development on Tuesday, Sanders was suspended with pay on Tuesday afternoon pending an investigation.

State personnel laws prevent the police chief from saying more about the reasons for the suspension.
