Graham -- Parents often ask their kids what they learned at school each day, but that might soon be a thing of the past. Some parents are learning lessons right along with their children.
Teachers and parents tested out new technology at Alexander Wilson Elementary School in Alamance County Monday.
It allows parents to sit in on class while sitting at their home or office computer.
The teacher presented a 30 minute lesson to students and their parents.
A webcam sends audio and video over the internet. Parents use a password to log on.
"Say if there's homework that she's sending home that night that might be a little tough, she could actually teach a lesson on it and we could see how she's teaching it. Because, things are so different now than when we were in school," said Jodi Faucette, a parent of a fifth grade student.
School leaders think this was the first time a webcast of this kind was done in Alamance County.
The teacher hopes to be able to incorporate it again in the future.
