Guilford County, NC -- A High Point soldier is home with his family for the next two weeks.

Sgt. 1st Class Michael Johnson has been in Iraq since this summer. His wife, Jacquelyn and son, Evan, greeted him at Piedmont Triad International Airport Tuesday afternoon.

Then, the family raced to High Point for a surprise visit. Johnson came to his son, Landen's first grade class. Landen had no idea his father was coming home.

After 15 years in the army, this is Johnson's first deployment.

"I prayed and I said, 'I only want one gift this Christmas and that is to have my husband home and to make my children happy," said Jacquelyn.

Johnson is will return to Iraq two days after Christmas. Johnson could come back home for good in the spring.
