Atlanta, GA -- Presidential candidate Herman Cain has announced his withdrawal from the presidential race, Saturday afternoon outside of GOP headquarters in Atlanta.

"As of today, with a lot of prayer and soul-searching, I am suspending my presidential campaign," Cain said during the announcement.

"As false accusations about me continue, they have sidetracked and distracted my ability to present solutions to the American people," Cain said, "These false and unproved accusations continue to be spinned in the media and in the court of public opinion, so as to create a cloud of doubt over me, this campaign and my family...that spin hurts...it hurts my wife, it hurts my family, it hurts me and it hurts the American people, because you are being denied solutions to our problems."

"I am at peace with my God. I am at peace with my wife. And she is at peace with me...and I am peace with my family and I am at peace with myself."

During a conference call with 94 people on the morning of Tuesday, November 29th, Cain denied a claim by Atlanta businesswoman Ginger White that she and Cain had a 13-year extramarital affair, according to The Des Moines Register, which was invited by the campaign to listen in.

"I just wanted to let everybody know directly from me, we have not lost our enthusiasm at this point," Cain said according to the Register's report. "We are going to reassess things over the next several days, and we will contact you over the next several days and let you know - positive, negative, whatever the case may be."
