Footage Of Tornado Touching Down In Burkett, KS

(Burkett, KS)  --  A massive storm system churned up as many as 10 tornadoes in rural areas of western and central Kansas Saturday (4/14).

In Salina, tornado sirens sounded after a tornado was spotted near the central Kansas community.

Tornadoes also were reported near Sawyer in Pratt County, near Seward in Stafford County, near Timken and Rush Center in Rush County and near Hanston in Hodgeman County.

So far, there have been reports of a home damaged in Rush County and an old schoolhouse in Hodgeman County. There also were reports of downed power lines and trees in Russell County.

Numerous counties remain under tornado watches. The system isn't expected to move out of the state until early Sunday.
