ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) -- A 39-year-old house guest charged with killing a suburban Detroit couple who'd been hosting him, dismembering their bodies and dumping them in a river is due in court.
The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office says Roger Bowling will be arraigned Monday. He faces two counts each of first-degree murder, mutilation of a body and having a firearm in a felony.
First-degree murder carries a mandatory penalty of life in prison without parole.
Bowling also is charged with tampering with evidence.
Two bodies with no feet, heads or hands were found last week in the Detroit River and a nearby canal. The mile-wide river separates Detroit from Windsor, Ontario.
The victims were identified as 42-year-old Chris Hall and his 32-year-old fiancie, Danielle Greenway.
Bowling was Greenway's ex-boyfriend. Police arrested him Thursday.
