The Jim Henson Company has severed ties with the fast food chain Chick-Fil-A.

The company said the decision was made due to Chick-Fil-A's opposition to gay marriage.

The restaurant's CEO said in an interview last week that the food retailer supports the biblical definition of the family unit.

As a result, The Jim Henson Company decided to support GLAAD - a lesbian, gay and transgender advocacy group.

The Los Angeles Times reported the company had been producing puppets for Chick-Fil-A's kids' meals. All proceeds the company made from the puppets will be donated to GLAAD.

The Henson Company was known for shows like The Muppets and Fraggle Rock.
