KABUL, Afghanistan -- A large blast on the outskirts of the Afghan capital has sent a plume of smoke up in the air and shook windows in the city center.
Afghan police say Monday's explosion in Kabul was inside the compound of a private company that works on international projects.
The explosion happened in the Jalalabad road area, where a number of foreign companies have offices inside of blast-walled compounds. Kabul deputy Police Chief Daoud Amini says his forces have not yet been allowed inside the compound.
