LOS ANGELES -- New York City "Housewives" star Bethenny Frankel and husband Jason Hoppy are separating.
Frankel released a statement Sunday announcing the split. She and Hoppy married in 2010 and have a daughter, Bryn, who was born that same year.
The 42-year-old personality, chef, author and entrepreneur tells The Associated Press the separation brings her great sadness but is "the best choice for our family."
Frankel gained fame as a star of "The Real Housewives of New York City." Since her stint on the Bravo show, she has written four books, released a fitness video, founded her Skinnygirl line of cocktails, shapewear and nutritional supplements, and launched a national talk show, "Bethenny."
