The Lanza family says that a Facebook interview between Ryan Lanza and the New York Post is a hoax. Ryan is the brother of Adam Lanza the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooter.
According to MSN, the Lanza family said an imposter did an interview with the Post via Facebook chat. They claim he is not the author of the messages that defend Adam Lanza, demanding that he be able to rest in peace.
The
Washington Post reported that family spokesman, Errol Cockfield with the public relations firm Edleman, said Ryan Lanza deactivated his Facebook account shortly after the shooting and hasn't reactivated it since. Cockfield said that a fake Ryan Lanza page had been created and used to deceive the New York Post reporter.
The New York Post acknowledged that it had been deceived on Sunday, according to the Washington Post.
