Harrisburg, PA -- The governor of Pennsylvania says he plans to sue the NCAA in federal court regarding sanctions imposed against Penn State following the Jerry Sandusky child sexual abuse scandal.

Gov. Tom Corbett has scheduled a news conference on Wednesday to announce the filing in U.S. District Court in Harrisburg.

Penn State University agreed to the NCAA sanctions in July. The school was fined $60 million that was to be used nationally to finance child abuse prevention grants.

State and federal lawmakers have raised objections to the money being spent outside Pennsylvania.  

The NCAA has not issued a statement on the expected lawsuit.

Sandusky was a Penn State assistant football coach. He was convicted of sexually abusing boys and sentenced to decades in prison. Sandusky still says he's innocent.
