Wildfires in Australia have not only destroyed an optical space observatory and homes across north and west New South Wales state, it also uncovered a hidden drug lab.
According to Reuters, a father and son have been arrested for setting fire to the lab in the dense bushland to destroy it before police could catch them.
At least 28 homes and the country's leading optical space observatory were damaged, but officials said giant telescopes were OK.
The fire has expanded because of a heat-wave over the past week. An elderly firefighter in Tasmania is the only death reported in the fires at this time.
