Washington, D.C. -- President Obama and the first family took part in the National Day of Service as part of the 57th Presidential Inauguration. The President and first lady were painting and making repairs inside Burrville Elementary school in northeast Washington, DC.
On Sunday, President Barack Obama will be sworn in at a ceremony in the White House for his second four-year term. A public swearing-in will be held Monday at the U.S. Capitol, followed by a parade from the Capitol to the White House.
The National Day of Service is a day where volunteers across the country serve in honor of the life of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
