Fleet Week

Fleet Week has served as an unofficial kick-off to summer in New York City nearly every year since 1984. Approximately 6,000 Navy sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen sailed into Manhattan this week for this year–s event. This year, Fleet Week New York is one of the signature events around the country commemorating OpSail 2012, the Bicentennial of the War of 1812 and the Star-Spangled Banner.
