Politicians aren't the only ones preparing for the Democratic National Convention, law enforcement agencies are getting ready too.
The Greensboro Police Department is sending 150 officers to Charlotte to assist the Charlotte-Mecklenberg Police Department. The Guilford County Sheriff's Office is sending 40 deputies. Thousands of officers from across the state and country will be on hand to help with everything from crowd control to security.
"The most difficult thing is when you have 2 or 3,000 officers you're trying to manage plus all these crowds. It is just a logistical problem you will have... Getting people to the right spot at the right time and providing the equipment they need," explained Major Tom Sheppard, Guilford County Sheriff's Office.
The officers will recieve their assignments when they arrive in Charlotte.
