Tampa, FL -- Republicans have officially nominated former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney for president in the race against President Barack Obama.
New Jersey's vote put Romney over the top in a roll call of states at the Republican National Convention Tuesday.
Romney is scheduled to accept the party's nomination in a Thursday night speech.
Many experts say Romney effectively clinched the nomination back in May. All of Romney's former GOP competitors have endorsed him, except for Texas Rep. Ron Paul.
