Amber Alert Cancelled, Missing Girl Found Safe In SC

Sampson County -- Three-year old Chesney Gaskin has been found safe by authorities in Aiken, SC. Gaskin was the subject of an earlier Amber Alert out of Sampson County.

Police officers located the girl unharmed around 2pm at a McDonald's restaurant. She was with her mother, 24-year-old Danielle Star Simpson.

Simpson was taken into custody by Aiken police and is being held at the Sampson County Sheriff's office.

Authorities say they used the mother's cell phone to track her location. They also say that a tip helped locate the two.

Investigators say that the girl's grandparents had full custody of Chesney and that the Amber Alert was issued after the mother was suspected of taking the girl.
