Caswell County, NC-- Caswell county investigators say a homeowner called them Thursday night to report that his dog came home with a human skull. Officers responded to the home and rope off the area as a crime scene. The home is located in the Bethel Community off Park Springs Road in the northern part of the county near the Viriginia line. Sheriff Michael Welch told WFMY News 2 he called the SBI for help with the investigation. They used cadaver dogs and located the rest of the remains in a wooded area. They were on the scene Thursday night into Friday morning. Sheriff Welch said they were unable to determine on the scene if the body is a male or female or an age. He did say they check missing persons and don't have any on record right now. The body has been sent to Chapel Hill for positive identification. Stay tuned to WFMY News 2 and digtriad for updates.
