Geneva, Switzerland -- Google effort to map and photograph the world is getting some resistance. Switzerland's privacy watchdog says he plans to bring the search engine company into court to force changes to its Street View application. The service lets people see street-level pictures over the Internet.
While it's popular in the United States, the practice has critics in several European countries because it can allow individuals to be identified without their knowledge or consent. In keeping with Switzerland's strict tradition of personal privacy, the government wants Google to make sure all faces and license tags are blurred -- among other things to protect private information from becoming public.
