Columbia, SC -- Authorities in South Carolina say one woman is dead and another is wounded after a man shot them for their cars so he could go watch his brother play football.
Police say 24-year-old Demetrius Pepper shot a Greenville store clerk then killed a woman in Newberry County on his way to Columbia, where his brother plays football for South Carolina.
Police say Pepper was arrested Saturday morning outside of Williams-Brice Stadium, where South Carolina was playing a scrimmage open to the public. His brother is Nathan Pepper, a rising junior defensive lineman.
Authorities say the first car stolen by Demetrius Pepper broke down, so he went looking for another, killing a woman at her home.
Pepper has been charged with murder in Newberry County and assault and battery with intent to kill in Greenville.
