Oakdale, CA -- An item on a woman's bucket list turned into a near-death experience.
Eighty year-old Laverne Everett decided to go skydiving for her birthday in May of last year.
But something went terribly wrong.
She was seconds away from jumping out of a plane when she experienced problems with her harness.
Everett was left dangling in mid-air...and survived.
The Federal Aviation Administration says it's now investigating the incident.
