Greensboro, NC-- No matter how you want to pack your burger buns, there will be only one person who can claim the 2012 "Burger Battle" title. Joeseph Wysosky fought his way through 2 pounds of burger meat to become this year's winner for Greensboro.
Wednesday night, Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill in Greensboro held its annual burger bragging rights competition.
For the first two rounds, competitors have to build a burger from the restaurant's menu and out eat each other. The rules require them to create a half-pound burger with specified topping choices.
Participants who consume their creation the fastest advance.
During the final round called the "Burger Blitz", contestants must eat a one-pound burger while being timed.
The winner will be chosen regionally and nationally.
WFMY News 2's Tony Smith was the emcee for the event.
Prizes include: Grand prize winner gets $2,500.00 and bragging rights at the 2012 Burger Battle winner. $200 Gift Certificate for Smokey Bones.
