Brevard County, NC-- Anyone in law enforcement and the court system hear all kinds of excuses from suspects.
But, here's one they probably are still shaking their heads over... why did the man rob the store? The suspect said because his girlfriend refused him sex!
Yep, you read that correctly.
A Brevard County man told police that he robbed a convenience store because he was upset with his fiancé for refusing to have sex with him. Oh, and that's not all, the suspect said he needed the money to buy car insurance.
James Seehaus, 25, of Palm Bay, was arrested June 28 on suspicion of robbing a 7-Eleven. He was also a little chatty during his interview with police.
Among the things he told arresting officers: that he would probably have committed more robberies if he had not been caught.
Palm Bay police told Jax4 televison station said Seehaus robbed the gas station with a BB gun wrapped in white cloth to disguise it as something more dangerous.
Seehaus is facing charges for Armed Robbery and Theft. Officers said the pointed the gun at the clerk of the 7-Eleven and demanded all of the money in the cash register.
A Palm Bay police officer spotted Seehaus leaving the area and stopped his car in a parking lot about a half a mile from the gas station. He found a BB gun in the back seat, police said.
The clerk and another witness identified Seehaus as the person who robbed the gas station.
In an interview, Seehaus admitted to the robbery and said all the money that was in his wallet belonged to the business, according to police.
