Colorado-- A man married for years goes to hospital and leaves as a woman after kidney stone treatment! And No, he didn't have a gender change operation.

Sounds like the start of a really racy or bad joke, but this actually happened.

Steve Crecelius found out he was a she when he went to a hospital for a kidney stone and the nurse noticed a blood test showed he was female.

Now called Stevie, he is living as a woman, still with wife of 25 years and their six kids.

Stevie told ABC News he was intersex, meaning he had both male genitalia and internal female sex organs.

He said the nurse reading the ultrasound said, 'Huh, this says you're a female.
