Waco, TX (KWTX) -- A puppy is found with its ears and tail ripped off, and officers didn't have to look far to make an arrest.
That puppy is fighting though recovery tonight as her community responds in outrage.

Her wounds only begin to tell the story of Julie the pup's abuse and neglect.

"When they brought her in, I had tears in my eyes. It was horrible, it's a horrible thing that someone could do that to an animal," said Cathy Boothman, the head of the shelter's volunteer program.

The one month old pup looks better now than she did over the weekend.

Through the power of social media, offers to adopt Julie have been sent in abundance.
