Little Rock, AR-- A demolition company hired by the city of Little Rock to demolish a house leveled the wrong one.
The City of Little Rock says it recently condemned the property at 2804 Harrison Street and hired Youngblood Demolition and Excavating, the lowest bidder, to demolish the structure.
The city says it instructed the company not to start any work until Code Enforcement staff was on-site to verify the address. But, the City says Younblood Demolition began the demolition of 2800 Harrison Street without notifying Code Enforcement around Aug. 16.

Code Enforcement says the home at 2800 Harrison Street had been declared "unsafe vacant" in April, but it hadn't been condemned.
The City says it was notified when the contractor tried to dispose of the structure at the Little Rock Landfill. The City says they didn't have prior authorization or notification from Code Enforcement to do so.
City workers instructed Youngblood Demolition and Excavating that they need to contact their insurance company since they demolished the wrong structure and said "the City will not be liable for their failure to follow procedure."
Youngblood Excavation and Excavating has an active business license in North Little Rock and active state contractor's license.
