Washington, DC -- If you have the feeling that someone is watching you -- it may not just be paranoia. The Justice Department's use of electronic devices to intercept phone numbers, email addresses and online information has climbed by 64 percent since 2009. A study of records released under the Freedom of Information Act finds that from 2009 to 2011, the number of court orders for devices to trace phones and other communications devices rose from 23,535 to 37,616. The American Civil Liberties Union went through the numbers and issued a report on its findings yesterday.
