CBS is debuting its new thriller "Hostages" tonight (Monday, Sept. 23) at 10 p.m. ET.
Starring Toni Collette as Dr. Ellen Sanders, the series chronicles how she and her family, including husband Brian Sanders (Tate Donovan) and their two children, have been taken captive in their home by a group of gunmen led by rogue Agent Duncan Carlisle (Dylan McDermott). Carlisle ends up enlisting Sanders to kill the president of the United States (James Naughton) during a routine surgical procedure she is scheduled to perform.
Sanders is faced with the lose/lose decision of whether to save the president or risk having her family harmed. And she quickly learns that gun-wielding Carlisle's demands are deadly serious, and he has the intel and the means to back up his threats. When Carlisle insists he "knows everything" about the doctor and her family, he means it, thus introducing some dramatic family secrets.
In addition to 'Hostages' Monday begins the night of new and returning shows for the network.
