Danville, VA -- Firefighters in Danville, VA responded to a structure fire at the former Hylton Hall on Lanier Avenue, Sunday.
They say they got there at 3:45pm and could see fire coming from the top floor of the five story building. It wasn't until 6:30pm that they reported the fire was under control.
One firefighter had to be taken to the hospital for heat exhaustion, but is reported to be in good condition and good spirits in the emergency department.
Units will stay on the scene through the night because there are still hot spots and small pockets of fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
