WILMINGTON, NC-- A new television series from executive producer J.J. Abrams that will air this fall on NBC will be shot in the Wilmington area.
Officials with the Wilmington Regional Film Commission said the Warner Bros. Television series "Revolution" will begin filming in the area this summer. The website for the show says it's about life 15 years after the world loses all electricity.
The director is Jon Favreau, who also directed "Iron Man."
Commission officials say the show will employ about 125 people full-time, along with hundreds of part-time extras. The pilot was filmed in Georgia.
Warner Bros. previously shot "One Tree Hill" in the Wilmington area, which is also known for being home to another teen-angst drama, "Dawson's Creek."
"Revolution" will air at 10 p.m. Mondays.
