Lexington, NC-- As if the world doesn't already where you can find some of the best barbecue in North Carolina, a Triad town is featured in a national southern magazine.
If you have your copy of the June issue of Southern Living, you are already in the know. Southern Living features two Lexington eateries and a barbecue cook.
The article is in a section titled "'cue awards: celebrating the best of the barbecue belt." The Lexington cook mentioned is Avery Payne of Cook's Barbecue on Valient Drive. He is called one of the 10 best pitmasters on Southern Living's "The Smokin' Hot List."
Listed among the top 20 barbecue restaurants were Jimmy's Barbecue on Cotton Grove Road and Lexington Barbecue off Interstate 85 Business Loop at West Center Street Extension in an article titled "The South's Best Butt."
