Winston-Salem, NC - The restored World War 2 Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress "Memphis Belle" flew into Winston-Salem Smith-Reynolds Airport Tuesday morning on its first national tour.
This is not the original historic "Memphis Belle" that was the first B-17 to complete 25 missions. The one in Winston-Salem was built toward the end of the war and never sawany combet.
It is painted in the colors and nose art of the original Memphis Belle. Public flights and ground tours will be September 8th and 9th at the Smith-Reynolds airport in Winstom-Salem, NC.
The hours will be 10am to 5pm each day with public flights in the morning and the ground tours in the afternoon.
