Denton, NC -- Members of the Farmer Volunteer Fire Department are raising money to pay for the funeral of a six-year-old girl who died in a crash last Friday, and the community response has forced them to find a bigger venue for their efforts.
The little girl, Rosalei Foland, was killed when her father pulled out in front of a truck. State troopers accuse the father, Rodney Foland, of driving drunk. Rosalei's brother, four-year-old Tommy, was also hurt and was listed in good condition at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center on Wednesday afternoon.

"It touches your heart, especially if you have children," Farmer Fire Department Chief Tracy Boyles said. "I went home [Friday evening] and told my daughter, 'I love you.'"
Boyles spent Tuesday stopping by Randolph County businesses asking for donations and things the firemen can auction off. They'll hold a benefit yard sale, hot dog supper and auction at on Saturday.
The yard sale will happen at 7 a.m. at the fire station, which is at 6881 Old Hwy 49 in Denton. The dinner, which is at 4 p.m., and the auction, which is at 7 p.m., will be held at Farmer Elementary School. The entire event was supposed to be held at the fire department, but Boyles says the response has been so overwhelmingly positive that they had to find a larger venue to host everyone for dinner.
