Winston-Salem, NC -- Fire crews were on the scene at Healy Drive Towers in response to a two-alarm structure fire Friday afternoon.

The fire department said they received a call to the high rise building around 1:25pm. When fire crews arrived firefighters found heavy smoke on the third floor and floors above it.

The fire was contained to one apartment on the third floor.

Forsyth Co. EMS also responded and said one person was treated for smoke inhalation.

Investigators said the fire was caused by food being left on the stove.

The fire department credits the Stove Top Fire Stop with keeping the fire from getting out of control. The devices were installed by the fire department thanks to money from a grant.
