Greensboro, NC-- Friday, officials with the city of Greensboro announced that the director of Human Relations Department is leaving the position.
According to a news release from the city managers's office, Dr. Anthony Wade's resigning and his resignation is effective as of September 30. Wade has served as human relations department head since September 2007 and served as the interim director of the Parks and Recreation Department from 2009 to 2010. In his role, Wade serves as executive director to the City's Human Relations Commission and the Commission on the Status of Women.
Wade also manages the City's ordinance involving fair housing enforcement, employment, and public accommodations. Assistant City Manager Sandy Neerman will temporarily lead the department until an interim director is named.
Greensboro City Manager Denise Turner Roth said the City will conduct a formal search process for Wade's replacement and will involve the community by soliciting input on the role of the Human Relations Department within the community.
