New Orleans, LA -- The Saints players suspended for their roles in an alleged bounty system won their appeal against the NFL Friday.

A three-member panel of the appeals court ruled that Roger Goodell was not within his jurisdiction to suspend the players.

The committee that overturned the ruling said Goodell could only reconsider disciplining the players if he has more evidence of intent to injure than just a "performance pool."

Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma tweeted this after the ruling: "Victory is mine!!!! -stewie griffin"

The ruling means Jonathan Vilma, Will Smith, Scott Fujita and Anthony Hargrove could all play Sunday if they wanted. Because of the time of the decision, officials don't think Goodell will have time to overturn the ruling before the first weekend of the season.
