Greensboro, NC-- Police and city crews have issued a traffic alert of a main stretch of a Greensboro road.

Because of a water main break, crews have closed the outside outbound travel lane of Eastbound Friendly Avenue between Ridgeway Drive and N. Elam Ave.

No cars are being allowed to travel in that lane, which could mean backups and slow moving traffic.

Police didn't have a time on when the lane would reopen. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area.
