Chapel Hill, NC -- A vigil has been planned on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus Monday evening for Faith Hedgepeth, the 19-year-old student found dead in her apartment Friday.
Police said the death was a homicide, but still haven't made an arrest or named any suspects in the case. Investigators have not released information on how she died, but they do not think the crime was random.
Friends found Hedgepeth's body at her Hawthorne on the View apartment in Chapel Hill Friday morning.
Chapel Hill police have set up a tip line to get information from the community. Anyone with information on Hedgepeth's death should call (919) 614-6363 or Crimestoppers at (919) 614-6363.
A reward of up to $2,000 is being offered for any information that leads to an arrest.
Hedgepeth was active in Native American events and performed in a singing group and danced at Pow-Wows. She was a member of the Haliwa-Saponi Tribe and a steady volunteer at the UNC American Indian Center.
