Los Angeles, CA -- It seems like people did everything else but go to the movies over the weekend. Theaters haven't been this empty since 9/11. "Possession" was able to hold on to the top spot for the second straight week with just $9.5 million. It's the first time since 2008 that no film made at least $10 million. "Lawless" is second with $6 million. "The Words" premieres with $5 million, followed by "The Expendables 2" and "The Bourne Legacy."
