New Castle, DE -- Police arrested a man who they say stole his own truck out of a repair shop lot using a front-end loader.
Officers were called to the shop Friday after a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado went missing. The man was caught on surveillance video driving the front-end loader away from the scene with his pickup truck attached.
The shop's owner called the vehicle's owner, 30-year-old Donald Smith II. Police say Smith's car was being held because he had defaulted on a payment he owed for repairs. Smith called back to say he had taken the truck.
State troopers later saw Smith in the loader and chased him. The chased lasted 35 minutes and ended with Smith driving into a pond.
