WEST WINDSOR, NJ -- The pilot of a helicopter has been killed in a crash in central New Jersey. Authorities say the twin-engine helicopter went down in a cornfield shortly after noon today in West Windsor.

It's not clear what caused the crash. Authorities say the pilot was apparently the only person aboard. He did not report any trouble or make any emergency transmissions.
