HOUSTON, Tx. - Just how far are you willing to go for great hair? Would you use placenta hair products?

It is a hair raising question: Is your hair shinier and bouncier with placenta products?

Chad Wayne, University of Houston biochemistry professor said placenta, a protein, gives hair bounce and shine. But chemically it's the same as other protein, found in every other shampoo, or conditioner.

If the hormones from placenta was removed, it would be a drug. Research is being done with placenta, but it's being done on people, not on a hair product.

Hair products do differ, but that's because of the amounts of protein and chemicals used.

Placenta shampoos are "not tested on animals."
