Greensboro, NC - There are very few places where you can tour a house, see something you like and then buy it right on the spot. And there's only one such showhouse in the Triad where all the money collected benefits charity.
Tracey McCain went to Chic Chateau, the Triad's only up-cycled charity showhouse to find out what makes this home so special.
Chic Chateau is different from traditional showhouses in two ways. First, everything designers use in their furnishing plan must be up-cycled, nothing can be brand new. And second, all the furnishings and accessories are for sale. For instance, if you like that mirror in the master bedroom? Take it home with you.
All the money collected benefits Habitat Greensboro and its $50,000 fundraising effort for the 2014 Raising the Roofs build.
The Chic houses are located at 2006 and 2008 Stratton Hills Court, Greensboro, 27410.
The house tours & furnishings sale takes place on the following dates. Sept. 21, 22, 28 & 29 (Fridays and Saturdays) from 10am - 5pm and Sept. 23 & 30 (Sundays) from noon - 5 pm.
Tickets are $15 or $20 for 2-day pass. Again, it all benefits Habitat Greensboro. To learn more about the event and other special offers visit them Habitat Greensboro on the web.
