Triad, NC - Republicans and Democrats have spent over one billion dollars on the Presidential race between President Obama and Governor Romney, leaving local races fighting for attention in swing states who see the bulk of this spending, including North Carolina.
When North Carolina voters head to the polls this November, they will vote in races for North Carolina Governor, US Representative, and General Assembly Members, among others.
News 2's Patrick Phillippi spoke with voters in downtown Greensboro who told him the Presidential race is consuming everything, and leaving them knowing little about local candidates.
Ashley Crawford said, "You see everywhere, Romney/Barack, Romney/Barack, but you don't ever hear about your school officials, your state officials as much."
Tuesday is voter registration day and a good reminder to have a basic understanding of the candidates in all races you will vote for.
You can find a sample ballot for your polling location here.
